The Spring Edit: Let's Talk Beauty ($25 & Under)

As far as products go, I like to keep it simple. Once I find something I love, I usually stick with it forever (and tell everyone I know about it). Over the past few years, I've discovered a few products that  I love to use not only year-round, but especially as the warmer weather rolls in, and most of them happen to be $25 and under...

1. Sonia Kashuk Sunless Tanning Towelettes, $11 for 4. Who doesn't love a little sun-kissed glow? These were a random/skeptical "let me give this a try" purchase a few years ago, and I loved them so much I've gone back for more. There is definitely a "right" and "wrong" way to apply self tanner, but I found this goes on much more evenly than bottled versions I've tried in the past, and even more importantly, it doesn't make you look orange. One towelette is enough to cover your face & body.

2. Serge Normant Dry Shampoo, $25. Spring and summer means sweat. Which means sweaty bangs. Which is not pretty. This was a recent Birchbox discovery, and it's kind of amazing for absorbing any extra oil in your hair, adding texture, and boosting volume. Also amazing for days when you don't feel like washing your hair and prolonging the life of your blowout. The TREsemme version is also great for $5.

3. Josie Maran Argan Oil, $14. I bought the small version of this a while back after hearing and reading rave reviews. It's lightweight, moisturizing, unscented (and organic), and I've definitely noticed how much smoother my skin feels. I usually apply a few drops (a little goes a long way) on my face and neck before bed. Josie Maran also works with women's co-ops in Morocco to produce her product and makes giving back a priority.

4. Maybelline The Falsies, $6. Mascara is something that I've pretty much always bought at CVS or Target. I've even tried out a few higher end mascaras that either ended up giving me the same (or worse) results as my $6 versions, but since I've started using Maybelline's The Falsies I haven't batted a lash (yes I said it) in another's direction. It doesn't flake, it makes my lashes extra long, and the non-waterproof version comes off easily at the end of the day.

5. Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencils, $25. You may have seen these in some of my blog posts, but that's because I can't get enough of them. You get the coverage and bold color without the stickiness and heaviness of a lipstick, which I especially love in warmer weather. I personally love Dragon Girl (a bold red) and Bolero (a peachy pink), but there are a bunch of colors I'm still dying to try.

What are some of your favorite budget beauty finds? Are you a brand loyal or "the more the merrier" kind of girl?

  1. I love that Argan oil and curious about the tanning towels...I typically use Tan Towels which are pricier but work well. Thanks!

    1. I've never used Tan Towels (almost purchased them before the Sonia Kashuk version but they were sold out!), but I really love these - definitely give them a try!
